Erik lost his first tooth!

And the tooth fairy came and gave him lots of Namibian coins in exchange for his tiny tooth (despite the different customs on how the toot fairy comes to exchange the tooth, in Norway you put the tooth inside a glass of water, in America you put the tooth under the pillow)!

How life can change so radically

Since my last entry, life happened, and thats way I haven't been up to posting anything here for a while. One of Sammy's colleagues and a friend of us, Marianne, whom we went to the wedding with the week before, suddenly passed away the 21st of November. Being that we had just seen Marianne, her partner Ismael and their 7 month daughter Nangula the week before, it was unreal to get these shocking news. Marianne was one of 3 Norwegian employees for Namibia assosiation of Norway. She was a vital and beautiful woman, with love and passion for people and cultures. Marianne was also a well known artist here in Namibia. The agenda we had planned for Elvia and Rose whilst here, dramatically changed, and we all went to Windhoek to meet Ismael, Mariannes parents and sisters. A seremony was held in Namibia before flying Marianne back home to Norway. Today Marianne was buried in Trondheim. This has been such a sad time for all of us, but the hardest it has been for Ismael and Nangula. Being a mom myself I cant stop thinking about how Nangula will have to grown up knowing her mom from a distance, missing out on such a wonderful human being who had so much to offer. The picture attached was taken 1 week before Marianne suddenly passed, at our mutual friends wedding.

Live every day to your fullest!
